32oz PP Soup Container: PF-GG950 and PF-L950

Specification

Lid note: PF-GG950 is packed as 300 bodies without lids. The matching lid is PF-GG002 (157 mm diameter), ordered separately at 300 pcs per carton. Buyers who assume the lid is included will under-order by half the weight and be short by 300 lids per carton — this is the single most common mistake on this series.

Why round wins for soup

A round container has an even rim, so the lid seals uniformly under steam pressure. A rectangular 950 ml has four corners that concentrate stress; under a hot liquid load, the corner seal creeps and leaks first. The safety-lock lid on PF-GG950 adds a mechanical lock, not just friction.

If your customer fills above 90°C, this is not a preference — it is the difference between a delivered order and a claim.

The three failure modes at this size

1. Lid pop — steam pressure lifts a flat lid. The safety-lock lid resists it; a plain snap lid does not.
2. Base bulge — 950 ml of liquid is roughly 1 kg, and a hot base loses stiffness. 33 g is the reason this model holds.
3. Handle tear, if fitted — the hinge point needs local thickness. Not applicable to PF-GG950 (no handle).

Freight comparison

PF-GG950 at 403,200 sets per 40HQ is 53% more efficient than PF-L950 at 263,800 — because 300 sets fit per carton versus 200. For a soup program where the customer orders by the container, this is the single biggest cost lever.

FAQ

Can the 950 be frozen? Only if the resin is impact copolymer. Confirm with us before freezing — homopolymer cracks at −18°C.

Is a vented lid available? Ask at quotation; venting is a lid tool modification, not a container change.

What about 24oz? PF-GG750 at 750 ml, 32 g, 416,400 sets per 40HQ.
