Anti-Fog PP Container for Cold Display

Anti-Fog PP Container for Cold Display

Why fog forms and why it matters

Cold food plus a cold lid equals condensation. On untreated PP, water forms discrete droplets that scatter light — the customer sees a fogged lid and cannot judge the food. Anti-fog makes water spread into a thin continuous film instead, which stays transparent.

In a supermarket chilled cabinet, this is the difference between a product that sells and one that looks stale.

The test that matters

Ask for a fog test at 4°C for 48 hours with the actual food. Suppliers who claim anti-fog without a test are usually relying on a masterbatch that fades after a few months in a warehouse.

Simple field test: put the container in a fridge with a warm, moist item inside and photograph at 2, 12 and 48 hours.

FAQ

Does anti-fog affect food safety? No, approved additives are food-contact compliant. Ask for the migration test.

Does it work in freezers? Freezer fog is different; specify freezer-grade anti-fog separately.
