Why hinged wins on trucks

A separate lid requires two hands and a flat surface. A hinged clamshell opens like a book, holds itself open, and closes with one motion. On a truck with a 600 mm counter, that matters.

The trade-off: hinged containers are not leak-proof. For saucy items, use a sealed container and put the hinge design on dry items.

FAQ

What about cutlery and napkins? A lid with a recessed cutlery slot reduces the number of parts handed out — fewer things to drop.

Do trucks need smaller sizes? Often yes. A 750ml container in a customer's hand while standing is awkward; 500ml works better.

Next step

Send the menu and the service window dimensions. We will recommend footprint and closure for one-handed service.
