Route comparison

For a first program, stock mould plus IML. You get a branded container in six weeks and keep capital for inventory.

The process, in order

1. Artwork check (1–2 days) — vector, Pantone references, 0.8 mm minimum line weight, 3 mm bleed
2. Proof (3–5 days) — printed proof or 3D render on the actual container shape
3. Label plate or mould (15–35 days)
4. Trial run (5–7 days) — 500–1,000 pcs for approval
5. Mass production (15–25 days)
6. Inspection and booking (3–5 days)

Design rules that prevent rework

• No text within 5 mm of the rim — the rim distorts during demoulding
• Minimum line weight 0.8 mm for IML
• Avoid large solid dark areas on the base — flow marks show
• Approve on a 3D mock, never on a flat PDF. A tapered wall turns a square logo into a trapezoid

Which models are IML-ready

All stock models can take a label plate, but the practical ones are the high-volume shapes: PF-RG750 (309,750 per 40HQ), PF-SQ750 (418,500), PF-SC20 (1,633,000). IML economics need volume per design; a 300,000-per-container model gets there fastest.

FAQ

Can I change design between orders? Yes, but each design needs its own plate and a minimum run.

Who owns the label plate? You should. Pay separately and name it in the contract.

Is IML recyclable? Yes — the film is PP, so the article stays mono-material #5.
